Our Story
It all started in a small toy shop in 1978 when our founder, John Action, had a vision to design unique toys that went beyond mere playthings. John wanted to create an empowering experience where kids could act out adventures, explore new worlds, and discover their own abilities.
After months of development, John introduced the very first Hero Force® action figure – the unforgettable Captain Crusade! With his bold uniform, signature shield, and pack of crime-fighting gadgets, Captain Crusade flew off store shelves and became an overnight sensation.
The enthusiastic response from children and parents drove John to expand the Hero Force® universe. He steadily added new characters like the alien shape-shifter Morphos, mystical sorcerer Manifold, and undersea explorer Deep Discovery. Kids delighted in assembling diverse teams with complementary skills and backstories.
By the 1990s, Hero Force® boasted a cast of over 50 unique action figures locked in an eternal struggle between good and evil. Novel playsets and vehicles allowed kids to project themselves into thrilling storylines across amazing environments like towering cities, prehistoric jungles, and outer space.
Today, Hero Force® Toys carries on John Action’s creative spirit as a leading innovator in the world of play. Although John retired a decade ago, our talented design team continues dreaming up new superheroes and super villains to inspire unlimited adventures. Consider our Skyscraper Showdown playset – the ultimate urban battleground for superheroes and villains. This multi-level cityscape features moving elevators, swinging wrecking balls, and even a helipad with rescue chopper for high-flying rescues. We built in clips, handles, and hiding spots so multiple figures can climb, zip-line, and brawl their way through an intuitive narrative.
For cosmic adventures, our Galactic Guardian playset awaits. This spaceship playset includes a cockpit, laser cannons, engine thrusters, and a cargo bay full of gadgets. Kids can use their imagination to propel their galactic guardians through hyperspace toward dwarf planets and distant moons. The adventure is truly out of this world!
